Bodybuilding Achievement Records
Keeping accurate records of your progress is an essential part of your bodybuilding program. Without accurate records, you will not be able to see how much progress you have made and it can be very discouraging if you do not think that you are making any progress. List different measurements such as chest, waist, thighs, biceps etc and repeat the same measurements every few weeks, recording the new measurements and allowing you to make quick comparisons and judging your progress.
Keeping records will also help you see that you are making small steps forward to a larger goal. There is a reason why people weigh themselves every week when they are on a diet – you can not tell if you lose one or 2 pounds, but the scale can. The same thing is true with bodybuilding. By taking measurements and keeping track of your weight and also size, you will be able to see small improvements. By micromanaging these small steps, you will make them add up to larger and larger successes.
Having a written record will also help you to visualize your progress and will help you to see how far you need to go in order to reach your goal. Your goals should be reasonable, written down and have a timeline. Having your goals and your progress in writing helps you with the accountability you need in order to have a successful bodybuilding program.
Finally, if you keep an accurate record in writing and you try to change one part of your program, you will be able to see this has helped you or has not helped you to reach your bodybuilding goals.
Along with taking measurements of your weight and muscle sizes it is also a good idea to take photographs of your progress. Take photographs of yourself from different angles making sure to ‘let it all hang out’ to create a true impression of your starting position. Every few weeks, take some more photographs to compare with previous weeks photographs and make comparisons to check your progress. Print out some of the photographs which show the most dramatic changes and this will also help to keep you motivated to see how far you have come on your journey.
